The arrival of the fall season coincides with a noteworthy event – National Dental Hygiene Month. Throughout the month of October, we celebrate the pivotal contributions of dental hygienists. These skilled professionals work alongside dentists to provide essential dental care services to communities, ensuring that smiles remain healthy and shining. However, in an industry that is rapidly evolving, hygienists must stay informed about changes in clinical techniques, technology, patient expectations, and communication preferences. The future holds exciting opportunities for hygienists, and Heartland Dental is dedicated to supporting them in preparing for this dynamic landscape.

Every September, Heartland Dental dedicates a week to celebrating our amazing supported doctors, dental team members, and support professionals for Employee Appreciation Week. Year over year, Employee Appreciation Week is a special opportunity for the whole Heartland Dental community to embrace our core value of Celebrate – prioritizing gratitude, camaraderie, and joy in the success of others.

Oral health professionals work hard every day to deliver high-quality dental care to their patients. While the job can be incredibly rewarding, dental professionals are also at elevated risk of musculoskeletal (MSK) disorders, due to awkward working postures, repetitive work, and prolonged standing. This can result in damage that can lead to pain, fatigue, and other disorders. MSK can be so severe that it has become the leading cause of early retirement among some dentists.

In the world of dentistry, achieving the prestigious Fellowship and Mastership Awards from the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) is a remarkable accomplishment. This year, Heartland Dental proudly celebrates the outstanding success of the supported doctors who were recognized for their exceptional dedication and expertise at the AGD’s 2023 Convocation Ceremony held in Las Vegas.

This July Heartland Dental hosted a special viewing of the documentary “My Heartland” in Effingham, Illinois at the Effingham Performance Center. Over 650 people joined, eager to witness the inspiring journey of the Heartland Dental’s inception with its Founder and Executive Chairman, Rick Workman, DMD and other leaders and partners.

For the second year in a row, Heartland Dental’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Pat Bauer was recognized on Incisal Edge’s Top 32 Most Influential People in Dentistry. This annual feature from Incisal Edge recognizes individuals for being thought leaders and educators, making an impact on the lives of dentists and their patients.
