What age does two-phase orthodontic treatment start?

If a dentist notices that your child's teeth or jaw are misaligned, they may recommend two-phase orthodontic treatment performed by an orthodontist to help adjust their bite and baby teeth as they grow. Typically, two-phase orthodontic treatment begins when your child is young, between 7 and 10 years old. This is phase 1. In phase two, once their adult teeth have started to come in —typically between 11-13 years old —your dentist will likely recommend braces or clear aligners to help perfect your child's smile.
